We booked for the Panama Canal with Celebrity because it was regarded as one of the best sailing cruise lines.We checked in early in Fort Lauderdale and we had an unexpected lunch on board.On inspecting the layout of the ship it soon became obvious that this ship was in desperate need of refurbishment, with soiled seats and repaired furniture that they didn't try to hide. The ship also needed to be maintained better with general areas and handrails needing paint or varnish. Treads on staircases were loose on many stairways. The cabins were fine and maintained to a high standard by the cabin stewards The entertainment was poor with the performers being changed at every port. This meant that few people actually went to see the acts. This is the first liner that i have been on that charges people to see demonstrations. The food served was not noticably different only that they made a great deal about changing the chefs after the first week.A lot of the passengers were older and late night entertainment closed at 23.00. On the whole the ship was a huge disappointment and the trips were not much better.The only noticeable good point was that the staff did their best and always gave 100%
