My wife and I decided many years ago that when we both retired our one aim in life was to cruise through the Panama Canal and stay for a short while at the end in san Francisco and visit Alcatraz. In April 2008 we were able to fulfil that dream aboard Celebrity Cruse Ship Infinity. We really pushed the boat out and treated ourselves to a Concierge Class Veranda Cabin on Sky deck and I can assure you that it was money well spent. From the minute we boarded in Fort Lauderdale we felt like royalty and the cabin was very large and comfortable. We spent 15 nights on board and I can honestly say that every minute was filled with relaxing and enjoyable experiences. The staff were always very attentive even down to our afternoon tea being in our cabin every afternoon form the different excursions. We explored Cartagena, Cabo San Lucas, Puntarenas, Accapulco, and as intended we had a wonderful three days in San Francisco and havin done the City Tour in the morning we finally fulfilled our lifetimes ambition to visit Alcatraz. I would certainly select Celebrity Cruises again and if luxury is what you are looking for then that cruise with breakfast served on your own balcony as you sail though the Canal is one you will never forget. Well done Celebrity, you did us proud!!

I really want to go on this cruise but am worried as to whether one needs medical requirements to visit all the ports.

Be rest assured that there was no need for any extra medical requirements for any of the shore visits. My wife and I are both in our earle sixties and although we took two organised tours we also took taxis from the dock in Cartagena and Jamaica. As I stated in my report it was a wonderful lifetime experience that we both would not have missed for the world. you must try and stay in san Francisco either before or after the cruise, it has the most relaxing atmoshere and wonderful fish restaurants. We stayed down near Fishermans wharf at the Tuscan Inn and I would recommend it for it's handiness to walk to all the tourist sites. Those people that we met who stayed on Knob Hill found it a long way going backwards and forwards to the wharf area. David and Susan O' Neill
