My wife and I have just returnrd fron a cruise in the eastern med. aboard Celebrity Galaxy this was our 11th cruise in total but only our second with Celebrity having been on the Century last year
We joined Galaxy on 20th June at Civetevecchia (Rome) at around 2.00 pm and the embarkation was a little tedious ,although we had checked in on-line the process took about 50 mins to complete I suppose we arrived at a time when most passengers were arriving.I'm sure an earlier arrival would have meant that the system was not stretched to the limit.
We we had a forward inside cabin on the penthouse deck which was clean spacious and well laid out.
The ship itself is in very goo condition and not at all tired as some reports have stated.
The crew were all magnificent from the cabin steward to the bartenders and dining room staff and nothing everv seemed to be too much trouble in fact the whole galaxy experience was first class throughout
The itinery was well planned taking in ports in Italy Greece and Turkey with two sea days for relaxation.
The food in the main dining room was well presented and delicious with lots of choice for each course
The onboard entertainment was varied with things going on at different venues around the ship .The reviews by the ships singers and dancers were quite lavish and very professionally produced.
and the speciality acts were very good indeed. However I have to report that the Headline acts a pianist a singer and a comedian left a little to be desired not exactly 'Star' quality that we have come to expect on luxury cruises
Overall I would rate Celebrity Galaxy as excellent.
Would we do it again ?
Certainly .

Question by Mazzoni, Gourock (04 Jul 08 22:03) about this REVIEW.
We are doing this cruise on the 1st of August are are very keen to hear what the refurb is like? Have cruised with Celebrity once before on the Millenium and could not fault it. Being an older and smaller ship we were hopping it would be of similar standard. Did you find the same having cruised with the line previously?
