Celebrity Spring Clean

Celebrity Cruises have bought a whole new meaning to spring cleaning. In only seventeen days Celebrity replaced 2,707 feet of tile and 9,843 square feet of carpeting on Celebrity Summit during dry-dock period in Hamburg, Germany. This week the cruise ship resumes its European season – now with a brand new 11,000-kw diesel genset (electrical generation system) which will reduce fuel consumption by generating electricity while in port.

Rendezvous Lounge now has a brand new dance floor and Celebrity have totally rejuvenated the boutique gift shop area. "We are constantly focused on the care and maintenance of our fleet, and evaluate the exterior and interior appearance of every ship, every day, to ensure we're consistently delivering the best guest experience," said Celebrity's Senior Vice President of Marine Operations, John Krousouloudis.  Last year, Celebrity Cruises invested £6.5 million across the fleet on maintenance in bedding upgrades, gym equipment, marble polishing, carpet replacement, fitness centres and new upholstery.

Celebrity's Vice President of Hotel Operations, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo commented, "We tend to be modest about talking about the work that takes place during scheduled dry-docks, but it's a high priority, and a significant investment, because we know how important it is to guest satisfaction and our brand as a whole."
