We are also doing this cruise and were on Constellation last year. People do adhere to the dress codes and the formal is very formal i.e. black tie for men and evening gowns for women. Well worth the effort though. Agree with the point below about Perry - really hoping he'll be on board again as he was fab and had a full house every night.

Just off the point slightly. As there are no arrangements for transfer, have you invstigated the best options both at Barcelona, at Bayonne (assuming you are booked into the marriott in Newark), and getting to JFK next day? May be complex and costly?

I suggest you both sign up for the 'Celebrity Connections' party. Good way to meet your fellow cruisers.

There are many sections on the net and on this site about cruising for the first time and rather than repeat it all I would suggest that you look it up. Sorry I'm not trying to be trite or evasive but there is so much. Also one of the best parts of the experience of your first cruise is that everything is new and different and that feeling of excitement you will never actually get to the full again so go with your eyes wide open and enjoy. Plus if there is a guy called Perry playing in Michael's Club don't miss him he is so good. .... Neil

Celebrity is one cruise line where most adhere to the dress code of the evening. It applies throughout the ship from 6pm each day. Formal means formal - tuxedo or business suit, long dress or cocktail dress. A jacket is required for the Formal tea and admission is refused if you are not wearing one. Very refreshing to see! Shows put on every evening. I have all the menus for a 12n cruise if you wish to see those. 5 course dinner every night. Very good food. Speciality restaurant well worth a visit too (esp for the goats cheese souffle)
