Q: Hi,
My family & I are booked on a Celebrity Cruise Baltic Capitals 14 day holiday departing Harwich. In the past we've always departed from Southampton and with Princess or P&O cruises. My problem/question is: What do you do with your car at Harwich? At Southampton a company called CPS handle everything brilliantly, and in some cases it's FREE! At Harwich it appears to be a very different story though. So far, harwich.co.uk (port authority web site), the cruise line and my travel agent have all been unhelpful. In particular, Celebrity Cruises give me the impression that they actually don't care what you do with your car, or how you get yourself to the ship at all. I find this all to be amazing, given that Celebrity "Claim" to be a 5 star cruise operator. So far, as a first time Celebrity client, I am NOT impressed. By the way, I am travelling from The Republic of Ireland overnight with Norfolkline the night before the cruise departs, and will be getting to Harwich late morning by car. So, it would be nice to have my plans organised in advance, naturally. So, hence my posing of this question. Doesn anybody have any useful help for contacts where I can pre-book cruise port parking and pay by VISA etc. before I leave Ireland, the way I do each year with CPS at Southampton. Thanks

There is a large car park adjacent to the cruise terminal. When I was there 2 years ago, you could not book in advance, you just turned up and paid on arrival. Unlike Southampton, you self park but there are loads of porters who collect your luggage from your car, then you walk into the terminal with your hand luggage. It was a little cheaper than Southampton

There is a car park which holds 600 cars and costs £7 per day but the best advise is to contact 01255 242000 for further details on car parking at the port. Hope this helps.
